This event has ended.

It’s all I can really think of in the fall. The palette of this group of paintings makes me think of snow storms. Of white illumination and big foot, of frozen tree branches that you hope will bloom again. There is a starkness. Single strong shapes take a stand against the visually noisy backgrounds. Monuments in the winter, snow rabbits, and living in caves are a few of the associations I keep making. Doing what is necessary to stay warm and survive until spring. - Tamara Gonzales

Tamara Gonzales’s first solo exhibition with Klaus von Nichtssagend Gallery will feature several new paintings and sculptural works. Geometric configurations are stenciled with spray paint through stretches of lace applied to the surface of the canvases and then pulled away, leaving layers of pattern and color. The resulting compositions verge on figurative imagery whilst retaining an associative language of material and color.
