826 was founded in 2002 by award-winning author Dave Eggers and award-winning educator Nínive Calegari. Now with a network of creative writing and tutoring centers in seven cities across America, the 826 branch in New York is based in Park Slope and located at the Brooklyn Super Hero Supply Company. 826NYC is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting students ages 6-18 with their creative writing skills, and to helping teachers inspire their students to write.
