Leonard Tourné Gallery presents “Market Abstractions: A Wall Street Story,” a series of paintings by New York-based artist Leila Pinto.
Born and raised in India, Pinto has spent more than two decades in New York, where she has studied under Ronnie Landfield, John Alexander Parks and Maurizio Pellegrin, among others. She has trained at the Art Students League of New York, the National Academy Museum School, the New York Academy of Art and the Grand Central Academy.

Using oil on canvas as her primary medium, Pinto displays a mastery of diverse techniques from abstract expressionism, influenced by Cy Twombly and Gerhard Richter, to nature scenes interpreted through observations on the East End of Long Island. Pinto’s earlier works include classical still life and landscape paintings.

Pinto’s painting career comes after twenty years on Wall Street, an experience that is evident in her latest work. Pinto has served as one of the few women Managing Directors in the institutional investment business and holds a Master’s degree in Organizational Psychology from Columbia University and an M.B.A. in Finance from Columbia Business School.
