This event has ended.

James Fuentes presents Debris, an exhibition featuring work by Darja Bajagić, David Wojnarowicz, Haim Steinbach, Lizzi Bougatsos, Nevine Mahmoud and Renaud Jerez.

The materials of the artist, borrowed from the everyday, are capsules of the culture and individual’s spirit. They act as archives for their creators and portraits of their landscape. Displayed, manipulated or copied, the spectacle of the object is prevented from evanescence.

The works here portray the exaltation of our landscape through reproduction, appropriation and form. They trace the evolution of their environment from metropolis to cloud-based meta-city. The works are rejections of the academic and stand as visceral assemblages illustrating portraits, diaries, and narratives. They are sphinxes from the real debris of human life.
