This event has ended.

Galerie Protégé hosts DELTAALIAS PRESENTS #ALEXISENSANCE, an exhibition of works by Ethan Millspaugh, Anthony J. Thomas, David Ross, Kate Bateman, Alexa Nikol Curran, Berthold Jean-Charles, Igor Corzh, and Kelli Laneé with a special performance by Anonymous {and.on.i.must}.

Curated by Ethan Millspaugh, the exhibition serves as a companion piece to Millspaugh’s eponymously titled series of digital shorts about love and loss (for people like us), featuring work from the people involved in the films’ production. Produced by DELTAALIAS and acted, written, and directed by Millspaugh, the series includes the short film AUGUST, the forthcoming films SEPTEMBER and OCTOBER, and the short film NOVEMBER.

ALEXISENSANCE is a neologism indicating an action, state, condition, or quality of feelings or sense data without a word or lexicon. The purpose of DELTAALIAS, #ALEXISENSANCE, and ALEXISENSANCE is, by using processes of performative, artistic, and creative self-expression, to shed light on the darker places that humans—as artists and as people—too often experience behind closed doors and to ultimately remind people of the power of performance and artistic expression. It is Millspaugh’s hope as producer, curator, and director that, through honesty and expression, artists can not only explore their own feelings but, in doing so, reveal some universal truth. He believes the camera, human body, and social media can be powerful tools of persuasion, and hopes this show—at least for a few moments—can serve to remind people that they are special and unique and that all those feelings locked away in the darkest of places are not only valid but worth sharing.
