Taller Boricua

poster for “Talleres de la Frontera” Exhibition

This event has ended.

This exhibition features monoprints created in conjunction with a bi-national partnership with a prestigious northern Mexican institution, el Colegio de la Frontera Norte and El Centro Cultural Tijuana. Artists were invited from workshops throughout the United States. A selection of artists from Taller Boricua’s Rafael Tufiño printshop are also featured.
The mono-prints were made at a workshop conducted at the Segura Art Studio, a fine art print studio housed at the Notre Dame Center for Arts and Culture, South Bend, Indiana and at El Nopal Press in Los Angeles, California. Twelve artists were invited to participate and each produced a series of original prints inspired by their attention to issues pertaining to international migration and border crossings.

Selections of the works created by the artists were exhibited in Tijuana, MX last September and will be displayed at the Crossroads Gallery later this summer. The art works will travel to other locations in the U.S. in 2016. We are pleased to announce that portions of the work produced by these artists will be gifted to museums and other major collections of Latino art in the U.S. and Mexico.

The Talleres de la Frontera project is expected to continue in the years to come and will retain and interest in the U.S.- Mexican border, but with expanded attention tothe Caribe and later to other areas throughout the Americas.
