Tim Main “Off A Back Burner”

poster for Tim Main “Off A Back Burner”

This event has ended.

OFF A BACK BURNER is a return to drawing and exhibiting for Tim Main, who writes that he is “most concerned with the renaissance notion of the cartoon as a preliminary, a diagram, a draft for something else to be realized or not. False starts, dead ends, things that have been put aside and almost forgotten, only to return fresh or recycled. In this drawing installation a construed timeline points to a larger more formal drawing, which remains, pleasantly, still a plan for something further.”

From his initial training in sculpture, to photography, to video, Main has pretty much run the gamut of the arts. Residencies at MacDowell (3), Millay, and Yaddo; Pollack-Krasner and NEA grants; along with shows at ART in General and PS 122 are just some of the distinctions he has amassed.

We are delighted to be the venue for Tim Main’s re-entry into the world of exhibiting and to be showing Amalia Piccinini’s new paintings.
