This event has ended.

With a title borrowed from a poem by one of the exhibitors, composer and singer/songwriter Cochlea Freedom, Thin-Sliced Cravings conveys interrelated messages across four different disciplines. A multi-talented performer who works in both popular and experimental music as well as traditional cow-calling, Cochlea will bring on board a surprise guest artist for her live performance on Friday night.

The wall-mounted part of the exhibit, which will remain on view for a full week, features a selection of hand-painted accordion books by Irene Christensen. Whimsical and deeply personal, Irene’s fable-like iconography tells stories of loss, longings, scrapes and joys.
Cathrine Wessel’s large photographic triptych, resulting from an elaborate analog process using both positive and negative Polaroid images, shows a young woman, strong and yet vulnerable, contemplating her own self through a series of gracious poses.
Zooming in even closer to the skin, Iselin Kleiva’s tightly cropped video works explore the thin border between the human body and its external world, leaving the viewer with the feeling that he/she is touching – perhaps even entering into – this delicate membrane.
