Since 1997, Lethen has curated shows at the Holland Tunnel Gallery both here and at the gallery extension in Paros, Greece, along with long-term shows at Stairsmasters, in the stairwell of her brownstone — leaving little time for her own work.
A fruitful summer in Paros produced these evocative new paintings — the forms float on the walls — abstract? human? landscape? Lethen feels that the work “reflects the influences of the different worlds she has lived in: Greece, New York, Japan and the Netherlands.”
