This event has ended.

In 1963, the musical 110 In The Shade, opened on Broadway, based on the 1956 film The Rainmaker (starring Katherine Hepburn and Burt Lancaster.) It is the story of a pivotal hot summer day, set in a drought-ridden rural town. The heat propels events toward the long awaited relief of rain and the return of all things green. Summer is traditionally associated with hot and dry weather, but in areas of the tropics the wet season occurs during the summer. The exhibition 110 In the Shade will present various artists’ views and observations from their own unique summer experiences. In their paintings and works on paper, the artists reflect upon the mood, color and the timeless experience of summer, and the freedom of the season, while considering a future increasingly threatened by the possibility of global warming.
