infinity by Japanese artist duo Mai Yamashita + Naoto Kobayashi is now on view in RLWindow. The silent video follows Yamashita and Kobayashi over a period of five consecutive days as they run a path, shaped like an infinity loop, on a grass lawn in Uster, Switzerland. The work investigates the banality of purpose and ritual with a touch of humor.
This is the debut viewing of infinity in New York. It has previously screened internationally at film festivals, galleries, and museums in Belgium, Berlin, Istanbul, Lingen (DE), Rotterdam, and Vigo (ES), among others.
