Paintings by John Cunningham:
Cunningham’s paintings are a lifelong labor of looking and interpreting. Inspired by the world around him, and the techniques of the great modernist painters of the late 19th and early 20th century, his work centers on color and composition, depicting landscapes ranging from a vacant lot in New York to a French garden scene.
Glass sculpture by Nicolette Jelen:
Jelen’s glass and mirror sculptures seem to possess infinite depth. She meticulously layers fragile materials - glass, mirror and handmade paper - rendering perceptually complex works. Delicately articulated engravings of natural objects - feathers, pollen, clouds - hover in light within transparent glass boxes, transmuting industrial materials of plexiglass and mirror into ethereal works.
