This event has ended.

In the gently surreal, endlessly inventive cartoons of New York-based animator Bill Plympton, the artist’s unique imagination can be felt in every frame. Plympton is an independent filmmaker in the truest sense of the word; he personally draws and colors the cels for every frame of his films. Because of this, his comic sensibility and distinctive style is as evident in his work as Chuck Jones’s personality is in his animation. Nearly 40 original drawings by Plympton from his films offer a view into his creative process, and there will be continuous screenings of an hour-long selection of Plympton’s best short films, from 1987 to 2010, including: Your Face, 25 Ways to Quit Smoking, How to Kiss, Push Comes to Shove, Guard Dog, Guide Dog, Hot Dog, The Fan and the Flower, Santa: The Fascist Years, and The Cow Who Wanted to be a Hamburger, plus the trailer for his new feature film, Cheatin’.
