Documenting her daily life and often intimate experiences, McEneaney’s paintings use rich, vivid colors and intricate detail. The artist records domestic scenes from the everyday: sketching in her studio, napping, reading the newspaper, or hanging out with her cats and her dog. There is a series of works she completed at the Joan Mitchell artist residency in New Orleans, both of her studio and of the stucco townhouses with their lace-like iron work façades.
