Lyonel Feininger “Precision of Fantas”
Achim Moeller Fine Art
This event has ended.
Moeller Fine Art presents its participation in Master Drawings New York with Lyonel Feininger: Precision of Fantasy. This exhibition features a selection of watercolors and drawings by Lyonel Feininger from private collections, including works from the artist’s formative years in Paris, the war years in Berlin, his time as a master at the Bauhaus, and return to his native New York. Moeller Fine Art’s presentation includes landscapes and seascapes, architectural and street scenes, as well as mural studies and “Ghostie” watercolors, bringing together the varied themes in Feininger’s oeuvre. Exhibition highlights include an 1891 illustration for Charles Dickens’ Bleak House; Vollersroda (1916), a whimsical watercolor depicting a Thuringian village; and (Rooftops and Watertowers), 1952 a cityscape that conveys the chill of a New York winter.
