Russian American Foundation presents Philip Grossman’s “500,000 Voices of Chernobyl”, a unique photo exhibit that shares personal stories of the courageous men and women who volunteered to clean up in the wake of the world’s most infamous nuclear disaster. This rare and emotionally charged exhibit is part of RAF’s 12th annual Russian Heritage Month®. The Sylvia Wald and Po Kim Gallery is well known for highly attended crossover presentations. The exhibit is co-curated by Marina Kovalyov and Jeffrey Wechsler and coordinated by Anya Talbot.
Philip Grossman is an esteemed photographer and an accomplished lighting designer. He uses Adobe software exclusively, including Photoshop and Light Room applications, to achieve striking and beautiful images that have an unforgettable impact on viewers. In fact, a previous exhibit of Grossman’s was presented at the United Nations global conference on the Chernobyl catastrophe.This year’s exhibit, “500,000 Voices of Chernobyl”, is comprised of 42 prints and 2 videos that portray the remnants of the lost homes of thousands: an abandoned children’s summer camp, desolate vehicle graveyards, and destroyed schools.
