SPACEWOMb Gallery presents “Another Nature” - Mind Nature featuring the ink drawings of Aeri Lee.
Lee uses Korean ink because of its natural color. Her works focuses on the eternal natural circulation; seeds producing fruit, evolving into flowers, then becoming seeds once again. Humans are like seeds and have a similar circulation. We appear in the visual nature as human beings making seeds with love and go back to nature after death. Humans have an eternal connection with nature. Lee’s works consists small fruits, which relate to the human concept implying the unlimited possibilities of a desirous life.
Aerie Lee received her BFA, MFA and PHD at Sookmyung Women’s University in Korea. She has had 38 solo exhibitions throughout the US, Japan, China, Vietnam and has exhibiting in various Art Fairs throughout. in 2013, she was awarded the “Special Artist” award in the an Artist foundation in Korea. Many of her works are in several collections throughout Korea. This will be her first solo exhibition in New York.
