This event has ended.

Gallery35—dubbed the “secret gallery” of Murray Hill—is quickly approaching its 10th Anniversary.

Fifteen current, past and founding artist/members of Gallery35 will participate in a special celebratory exhibit. The artists have been invited to exhibit pieces from their first show as members—as well as new/current work. A special display of posters from many of the previous exhibitions can be viewed at the receptions.

The gallery has a venerable history with its first exhibition held in September 1966 followed by numerous and varied shows over the years.

In 2004, a small group of artists from Community Church of New York joined together and began mounting an annual exhibition of their work. As gallery membership grew, the number of exhibits expanded to 5 or 6 solo and group shows each year from September through June. In 2010, the name of the gallery was changed to Gallery35.

Each year a special exhibit features the work of such groups as displaced or refugee artists from such countries as Iraq, Burma and Haiti.

Today over 20 artists, including several Murray Hill residents, regularly exhibit at Gallery35. The collective includes several nationally known, award-winning and classically-trained artists, as well as artists who have had solo shows throughout the country.
