This event has ended.

Kamisuzuki first became fascinated by horses at the age of 18. Since then, he has been creating pictures of horses for the past 38 years. His main motifs for the paintings are thoroughbreds, called “works of art for running” improved by man. Their graceful shapes and heroic running charm many people. However, such terrific horses have a fatal weak point, which their human caretakers must keep in mind for the horses’ survival. In Kamisuzuki’s works, he reveals the lives of horses, through which he seeks to communicate to people their strength and beauty. He aims to share his philosophy about horses through his art.

Kamisuzuki says, “The more I look, the more I paint. There are always new things to discover about horses besides their inexplicable beauty. That is why I’ve been painting them for 38 years. I paint thoroughbred horses, quarter horses, Morgan horses and any other breeds that catch my eyes and soul. I am very grateful to have this show. It is fourth time in Manhattan, but having it in the Year of the Horse is very special. I call it a perfect match. I hope you enjoy the show.” In this exhibition, 27 of his latest paintings will be exhibited.
