This event has ended.

Lisa Hein and Bob Seng began collaborating as supplements to solo careers on the West Coast. Now Brooklyn-based, the artists are known for the wry humor and technical range of their temporary installations. Typical projects have two parts in a reciprocal relationship; also an element of performance, sometimes by the artists but usually by materials under the influence of environment or inherent vice.

“…a vernacular that is both bummed out and entertaining, intense and blasé…another force to be reckoned with in the genre.” The New Yorker

Their work has been seen at Wave Hill, Socrates Sculpture Park and Boston Harbor Shipyard. Recent projects include IRRIGUARDLESS (sic) at Yaddo, BLUE in the FACE for INLight Richmond, and BRUISE , commissioned by the Seattle Center Foundation for the 50th anniversary of the Seattle World’s Fair.

Hein and Seng are two-time NYFA fellows in Architecture and Environmental Structures (2000 and 2006), MacDowell Colony Fellows (2010) and Artists in Residence at Yaddo (2012).
