This event has ended.

Contemplating the Void showcases Doyle’s playful sculptural and painterly aesthetic with kinetic surprises. The works in the show engage ideas of the urban and suburban with the tension of the inherent conflict of what these spaces represent. Doyle often ponders the notion of landscape as a twofold experience—one that is mundane and insignificant, the other fantastical and filled with endless possibilities. Doyle straddles this line on the edge of the void. His ability to construct objects at the pinnacle of technique is highlighted in the show with his lesser-known paintings filling in the blanks so we as viewer can truly contemplate this void for ourselves.

Doyle has worked for years as an assistant and fabricator to artist Tom Sachs. This experience, paired with earning his MFA, illustrates why Doyle has the potential to be a leader among the next generation of emerging artists. With Contemplating the Void, Doyle’s voice, elegant mastery of his craft and his strong grasp of the contemporary art discourse are all on display.
