Maho Kino “Peanuts in Wonderland”

Ise Cultural Foundation Gallery

poster for Maho Kino “Peanuts in Wonderland”

This event has ended.

The peanut has been a long time subject in my work.
Two nuts in one shell.
On one hand the peanut characters appear playful. Acting out their little tableaux.
But underneath there are other stories.. They follow me on my travels to foreign countries they are the people I meet the places I have seen.
They are the movement of colors on water that changes day by day, depending on my emotional state. They sometimes appear frivolous but they are also a secret map, my mind diary. For this show I would like to present a collection of 48 framed small etchings and lithographs two hand made books. As my pieces tend to be quite small and intimate, it is possible to present a large number in a fairly compact space and increase the feeling of intimacy with the work. The story is incomplete and has no particular beginning or sequence, sometimes a little confusing it works like play, it’s enjoyable, it’s fun.. Maybe we can learn something.
