Ro Lohin “Snow Paintings”

The Painting Center

poster for Ro Lohin “Snow Paintings”

This event has ended.

This selection of paintings by Ro Lohin conveys the idea that landscape can be used as a metaphor for emotional states. Working outdoors, under winter’s harsh conditions, Lohin paints from passages of trees and hedgerows. While her color palette suggests freezing temperatures, Lohin’s heated brushwork has an animation reflective of twisted branches against snowy fields and the slanting shadows of winter light. These images have an urgency about them, a need to break the silence of a frozen world through movement and a deeply felt interaction with nature. Visit www.rolohin.com for more information.
