This event has ended.

Lina Viktor is a New York-based fine artist from London who uses patterns, symbolism, and iconography to address grand archetypes and concepts of infinity, greatness, and transcendence.

Her acuminous paintings are composed of original black, white, and gold patterns that achieve astonishing vibrancy, a weightless density that gives her an instantly recognizable, signature style. In any single work you can find divine geometry, ancient Greek symbols, and Baroque tracery balancing in masterful decadence that draws us into the artist’s dynamic world. Often incorporating photographic source material, Viktor’s complex works are gilded with 24-karat gold directly onto the canvas, amplifying the ornate sensibility that informs the framework of her riotous, powerful images. The composition of patterns that emanate from and around her subjects illustrate an invisible world - an alternate existence beneath the one we all see.

Viktor studied film at Sarah Lawrence College and photography at The School of Visual Arts. She is an independent student of art history, and her original patterns and motifs find their origins in Greek symbology, Baroque trim, ancient geometry, and the natural world to pursue modern opulence. In creating her own mythology, Viktor applied herself to painting to discover a perfect marriage of her interests. Each captivating portrait she creates could be a still from a contemporary Metropolis, or the royal portrait for a 21st century monarch.

In a short period of time she has amassed a strong and dedicated following. Viktor has exhibited her paintings alongside works by Andy Warhol, Takashi Murakami, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Tom Sachs, Ryan McGinley, & Peter Beard at a variety of exhibitions in New York and Miami Art Basel.
