“RR&P: Repetition, Rhythm, and Pattern” Exhibition
TSA
This event has ended.
This group exhibition revisits reductive methods of abstraction in the practices of ten emerging and mid-career artists. These artists use the visual tools of repetition, rhythm, and pattern as building blocks. The results can appear to have convergent forms while the artists’ motivations remain divergent.
With reverence for formal investigation and a nice dose of levity, these artists move broadly through ideas, from personal family history to slap dash humor. They also move broadly through materials; from glass to ceramic, and from paper to lithography. Their forms and materials are often interjections that repudiate the precedent tones of minimalism.
