Brooke Alexander presents a survey of drawings and prints by Raymond Pettibon.
The works exhibited span the greater part of the artist’s career and show a range of his unique and iconic images. On view are his early minimalist line drawings and his later more colorful and fragmented works.
The exhibition includes the full range of subject matter that Pettibon repeatedly revisits: Love and death, sex and baseball, god, artistic inspiration, the ocean and transcendent mysticism.
In addition the complete Plots On Loan project will be on view. Co-published with David Zwirner, Brooke Alexander worked with Pettibon over a number of years to produce a bound artist’s book of 72 lithographs. Material from this project was also developed into a suite of 10 color lithographs (Plots On Loan I, 2000) and a suite of 6 color lithographs (Plots On Loan II, 2000).
