This event has ended.

The gallery is please to present Color and Light, an exhibition of new work from acclaimed sculptor, Tim Prentice. For his twelfth solo exhibition at Maxwell Davidson Gallery, Prentice has created work that references both his own background in architecture and kinetic sculpture, but also his art historical influences. His new work takes cues from Op-Art, Abstraction, and even Suprematism. More so than any other kinetic sculptor alive today, Prentice is able to combine definitions of air movement, the interplay of light, and the cautious but specific use of color to create wholly original sculpture.

Prentice’s work is system-based, using many interwoven parts to create wholes that are at once sculptural and fluid. They exist in the negative space, occupying it and yet helping to define it. Walls come alive, air currents become visible, and color and light are bent to mimic the movement of the work itself.

Prentice’s sculptures have been exhibited in and commissioned for museums, galleries, universities, hospitals, airports, corporate offices, civic centers, and private collections all over the world.
