Ikon Arts Foundation’s first exhibition, Notes on Undoing, at Garis & Hahn Gallery. The Ikon Arts Foundation is the first non-profit dedicated to raising awareness of Croatian creative culture within America and abroad. The show will feature 11 of Croatia’s most influential contemporary artists.

Multi-media artist cum socio-political activist Igor Grubic has just confirmed. Grubic, whose provocative works have nearly subjected him to prosecution, gained international fame for painting a black stain on Croatia’s Diocletian Palace in homage to ‘60’s Totalitarian protestors and in protest of society’s acceptance of modern political corruption. (Grubic has also used art to bring attention to acts of political violence, intolerance against disenfranchised groups like gay rights advocates, and more.) In Notes, Grubic will show photographs from his Angels with Dirty Faces series (inspired by time he spent with the real-life miners whose strike forced the resignation of Slobodan Milošević).
