This fall, Wayfarers is proud to present Business Talk Partner Zone, a special comic art exhibition with Finnish artist collective KUTIKUTI, opening in conjunction with New York’s annual festival of comics and cartoon art, Comic Arts Brooklyn presented by Desert Island Comics. Originally founded in 2005, KUTIKUTI is best known for their experimental quarterly comics tabloid, Kuti, currently in it’s 33rd issue. In addition to publishing, the group regularly mounts exhibitions of both their own artwork, and the work of kindred nonmember artists , all with the goal of expanding the audience for comics and pushing the conventions of the art form beyond its limits.
KUTIKUTI celebrates the “wild side” of the comic arts in Finland and abroad. In Business Talk Partner Zone, KUTIKUTI has curated an exhibition of fresh new works from their current lineup of 30+ members. Participating artists include Sami Aho, Mari Ahokoivu, Benjamin Bergman, Heta Bilaletdin, Terhi Ekebom, Roope Eronen, Matti Hagelberg, Jyrki Heikkinen, Leo Kuikka, Reijo Kärkkäinen, Jarno Latva-Nikkola, Tilna Lehikoinen, Mikko Luostarinen, Hannerlina Moisseinen, Tommi Musturi, Pauliina Mäkelä, Lauri Mäkimurto, Reetta Niemensivu, Jyrki Nissinen, Heikki Rönkkö, Kari Sihvonen, Katri Sipiläinen, Tuomas Tiainen, Katja Tukiainen, Jari Vaara, Emmi Valve, Amanda Vähämäki and Mikko Väyrynen. KUTIKUTI will be presenting their work both at Wayfarers and in a booth at Comic Arts Brooklyn. The KUTIKUTI exhibition is generously supported by The Consulate General of Finland in New York.
