The iconic work of industrial designer and illustrator John Vassos is a starting point for Boru O’Brien O’Connell’s first New York solo exhibition, in which desks, cameras, microphones, and tile floors take roles as mnemonic and perceptual devices. In a new multichannel video, the artist mirrors tropes such as the filmic wipe to conflate the subject and medium in a vertiginous space of heightened creative emblems. Curated by Lumi Tan.
