This event has ended.

Mr. Horowitz is an American landscape painter who was born in 1956 in New York City. He graduated from SUNY Purchase in 1978 and immediately won the prestigious and coveted position as apprentice to American master, Wolf Kahn. Mr. Kahn, perhaps the best known and most significant contemporary landscape painter of the latter 20th century, trained and guided Horowitz for six years. Under his tutelage, Mr. Horowitz learned to walk the thin line between realism and abstraction, and to appreciate the immense variety of interesting materials available to the professional artist.
Early in his career, Larry became widely known for his creation of handmade pastels which he prepared for legendary artists such as Willem and Elaine de Kooning, Jennifer Bartlett and Frank Stella, developing personalized colors for each artist.
In 1996, Mr. Horowitz was selected to participate in the prestigious, international Arts in Embassies program, and his paintings can now be found in the United States Embassies in Finland and Russia.
Since setting up his own studio outside of New York City over 20 years ago, Larry Horowitz has had an active 25-year exhibition history and is now a part of some important private and public collections.
Larry Horowitz has established himself as a uniquely talented figure in today’s contemporary landscape circle. Horowitz’s work captures the beauty of the American landscape with an expert use of texture and color that invites imagination and discovery.
