A Social Practice Sculpture By The Tribeca Community
Artist and sculptor, Seth Aylmer, is currently working in schools and parks around the Tribeca area to create a series of animal drawings with local children and adults.
These drawings are then being transferred onto tiles to cover the pedestal of a final sculpture. The community’s drawings will be displayed alongside the pedestal at One Art Space.
Seth will then produce the final sculpture, an animal cast in bronze, in the Fall of 2013. The visual style of the work will be a synthesis of the collected drawings, making the Totem a true creation of the community.
