“Open(Art)” Exhibition

Open(Art) is a joint initiative launched by Eyebeam and Mozilla to support creativity at the intersection of art and the open web. Over the past year, four Eyebeam Fellows have been working on projects that address issues of innovation, transparency, and utility within the context of the Internet.
Projects include:
Meemoo by Forrest Oliphant- a browser-based app “hacker” that allows for intuitive creation and re-mixing of apps, sounds, and graphics
Pixel Shaders by Toby Schachman- an interactive book, platform, and community centered around harnessing the graphics processing unit (GPU) for artistic purposes
BOMfu by Nortd Labs (Addie Wagenknecht and Stefan Hechenberger)- a collaborative web repository for open hardware “bills of material” (BOMs)
The Open(Art) Fellows will lead free workshops on July 13, with demonstrations of their projects, creative applications of the platforms, and (most importantly) a PIZZA PARTY. Register now!
Tech-minded teenagers can get involved in Forrest Oliphant’s Meemoo workshop, “Moving Storytelling,” from July 15-19, to learn how to create special kinds of GIFs, animated comics, and storyboards. Register now!
