My paintings are metaphors of my everyday life. In that way they are like visual poems. They have a sense of rhythm that travels throughout the peice, and often gives a feeling of movement. Drawing and line quality are an important part of my process and are at the heart of each piece. I use color to create emotion, space, light and shadow, which sets the context for the interplay of elements and subject matter in the painting. While some areas are sharply delineated, others are more vague and open to the viewer’s interpretation.
Robert Salmieri is an artist living and working in Brooklyn, NY. He has had several solo and group exhibitions in the New York area. His paintings are in private collections nationally and internationally. Robert’s work is also included in the collections of the Musée Daubigny, Auvers-sur-Oise, France and the Washington Sycip SGV Museum in Manila, the Philippines. Previously Robert has licensed signature textile collections to prominent design companies in New York.
Robert Salmieri is a graduate of the Parsons School of Design.
