This event has ended.

For the first two weeks of August (the 1st- 15th) the gallery will be home to a new installation and performance work by Shaun Krupa, entitled The Flooded Room. This is Krupa’s second performance at the gallery, where he has also previously exhibited paintings and sculptures.

The Flooded Room is an installation activated by a series of actions by the artist. A system of pathways will run through the gallery, like a boardwalk through a salt marsh. The installation will also incorporate materials, objects and sculptures to be used as sets and props in daily performances by Krupa. These performances will take place every day at 1pm while the gallery is open, and will last for various durations from a few minutes to many hours. Two larger-scale choreographed performances will bookend the exhibition, with one piece taking place during the opening reception (Thursday Aug. 2, 6-8pm) and another during a closing reception (Thursday Aug. 15, 6-8pm).

Shaun Krupa received his BFA from Rhode Island School of Design in 2001. He lives and works in Brooklyn, NY. He has recently shown and performed his work at Algus Greenspon Gallery, NY, Klaus von Nichtssagend Gallery, NY, and St. Cecilia’s Convent in Greenpoint, Brooklyn.
