This event has ended.

Superchief Gallery presents an exhibition of comics and drawings by Anne Emond. Anne's webcomic Comiques (comiques.tumblr.com) is a series of humorous semi-autobiographical single-page comics that star a stripe-shirted protagonist encountering little universally uncomfortable moments. The comics deal with social anxiety, depression, creative stagnation, mild misanthropy, general malaise, and feature the occasional judgmental cat. Anne's drawings also explore the sense of isolation that can come from living in a large city like New York. The show will feature selected prints of comics originally posted on her site, as well as large-scale single-panel prints and original drawings.

Anne Emond graduated in 2010 with an MFA in Illustration from the School of Visual Arts. Her work has appeared in The New York Times,Time Out New York, and The Funny Times, as well as the comics anthology Suspect Device #1 and #2, and the upcoming Hic and Hoc Humor Anthology.
