Levis Fine Art
This event has ended.
Levis Fine Art presents New York Abstract Expressionists, an exhibition of paintings and sculpture. This exhibition takes a fresh look at this groundbreaking school of artists who emerged in the late 1940s, dominated the world of Post-war abstract art and set the stage for the significant Minimalist tendencies that would follow into the 1960s and 1970s.
Filled with notable works primarily from the 1950’s and early 60’s, this three-decade survey will showcase prominent painters of the period such as Milton Resnick, Beauford Delaney, Grace Hartigan, Alice Neel, Theodoros Stamos and Elaine de Kooning.
It will also include strong works by several lesser-known artists whose contribution was nonetheless significant including Walter Plate, Melville Price, Maurice Golubov, Hugh Mesibov, Budd Hopkins and Rolph Scarlett.
