"Picture Day" A Group Art Show

Superchief Gallery

This event has ended.

Picture Day, a group art show curated, by Emma Zurer, encompasses the work of Leah Moskowitz, Christine Shan Shan Hou, Kate Reeder, and Zurer herself.

Two of the artists are showing photographs--Moskowitz and Reeder--and two are showing photographic collages--Hou and Zurer. The work reflects the influence of Surrealism, pop culture, humor and the debate around femininity.

Kate comes from an editorial fashion background, Leah comes from the avant-garde downtown scene, Christine is as much of a poet as a collage artist, working in lots of galleries around New York, and Emma is more of a performer who has only recently begun to work with visual arts.

Christine was exhibited as part of Be Out curated by Scott Hug at the Andrew Edlin Gallery and has curated exhibits at Art In General, Jack The Pelican Presents, and the Abrons Art Center. Kate was mentored by Guggenheim Fellow Pipo Nguyen-Duy and has spent the last seven years working with top fashion photographers around the world. Leah’s work has appeared in No Questions Asked NYC and Artforum. Emma has performed at with CHERYL at the MOMA, Live Music Video Company at 285 Kent, and the Young Choreographer’s Showcase at PS 122.
