This event has ended.

Ayaki employs bold and powerful compositions rarely seen in Japanese paintings. She uses natural mineral pigments pulverized natural rocks)and paints in several layers to create
deep and sophisticated shades of color. Her work combines the delicate techniques and colors unique to Japanese painting with exotic images, including a Greek hand mirror and Celtic motifs. Her paintings will make people feel the energy of life.

Due to Japan’s geographical isolation, Japanese artists gradually established their own unique styles of painting, which appear in landscapes, portraits, and natural and religious paintings. One thing that sets Japanese paintings apart from Western paintings is their unique perspective, which make viewers feel like they are in the painting itself. Ayaki combines traditional styles with Western subjects to create borderless works of art. The appeal of Ayaki’s works in this exhibition is the exquisite quality of the colors backed by traditional techniques, free-minded imagination, and her power of expression that lead the viewers into her art world. The theme of this exhibition is “Serendipity.” Ayaki believes that everything she does starts with an accidental encounter. With that in mind, she creates her works.
