This event has ended.

This work is all about books and stories with images, times gone by but not forgotten. I continue to be interested in groupings whether they are actual, implied, or made up. I think this is an extension of the grid that I have never left far behind in any of my work. The grid connects the past intentions along with our memories to give us a clearer view of our present and that which we hold valuable. This all ends up in a “series”, repeating similar yet different acts that we feel comfortable with, resulting in that which we think we know. When we find something that pleases us we want to repeat it and so with books and images. The youth book series offered young readers the opportunity to become friends with the characters, at least the good ones and battle against the bad ones along side our heroes. I have found a way to include my love of books, my fond memories of “my America”, and the images that inspire me. I like the intimacy of my characters whether they are recognizable or abstract, sewing works well for me since the rhythm and speed is determined by the machine with its limitations along side my abilities. Each drawing is like a page in a book and each group like a chapter. And the adventure of my creation of a visual library continues.
