ARTIST’S STATEMENT
My abstract drawings, while intimately linked to elements of nature, have other associative meanings. I use line and color as vehicles for personal expression, directed by a desire for communication. The drawings are a response to and a recording of small events – an open-ended visual story rooted in the natural world
These drawings are sketches for more drawings, lines without shape and shapes growing out of lines. I am exploring both observed and imagined occurrences. Like processes in nature, the drawings are made, changed, erased and remade. ?
Drawing is one way I write my thoughts.
