Takuma Nakahira “Circulation: Date, Place, Events”
Yossi Milo Gallery
This event has ended.
The series Circulation: Date, Place, Events was created in 1971 during the Seventh Paris Biennale. For five consecutive days, Nakahira photographed and developed approximately one hundred photographs daily and exhibited them without edits in an ever changing installation. The resulting project, which captures glimpses of daily Parisian life, broke from Japan’s photographic history of social realism, altering Japanese visual culture, and introduced the public to Nakahira’s “rough, blurred and out of focus” photographic style.
