Mysterious New York-based illustrator SCARECROWOVEN is a fan of gore, guts, and oozing appendages. His gnarled creatures take a cue from 'comic books, sci-fi and horror movies and all the illustration that came out of the skateboard world in the 80's.' He describes himself as an alien emissary sent to our planet 12 million seven hundred thousand years ago, but in more earthly terms he is a graduate of the graphic design program at New York's School of the Visual Arts.

TWERPS! (a.k.a. GREG RIVERA / GREG MISHKA) draws a little weird severed head with an arm that he calls “Lobster Roll”. He was born in Bridgeport Connecticut, which is oddly appropriate since the PT Barnum Museum is located there and any space that he inhabits immediately starts to resemble that museum's basement. He consumes more art, culture and sublime beauty in a year than most humans will know in their whole lives. He digests it and regurgitates it back into the world's gaping maw. He co-founded the streetware / youth culture brand Mishka in 2003.

Texas based and self-taught artist, THE DEATH HEAD grew up in Mexico and found inspiration for his artwork in the Day of the Dead traditions, also embracing the punk rock movement's attitude. He expresses these interests in his art, by mythologizing his environment while interpreting the brutal, primal, and animalistic side of the human form. He refers to his style as modern symbolism.

FRANK RUSSO is a Brooklyn Artist who has been drawing comic books since the age of nine. His art fuses a life-long love for trash culture and fast music with a wide variety of styles and media such as comics, paintings, toys, props and costumes. His infamous “Monsterfaces”, are painted with acrylic and enamel on cut out plywood, and were also featured on a series of Collectable Art Trading Cards. He built all the props and costumes for the performance art death metal band, DETHRACE, and fronts the band as 10 ft tall fiberglass robot, "Mecronos".

Discovered as a teen by the seminal skateboard/punk rock/heavy metal graphic designer Pushead, LAMOUR SUPREME has reinterpreted decades of comic books, action figures and monster movie references and twisted them into his own lexicon of 21st century hyper-pop imagery. He has continually created genre challenging work for brands such as Mishka, Nike, RedBull and Scion.

These five artists will be exhibiting some of their newest works at MF Gallery from February 16th to April 7th, 2013. During the Opening Party, (on Saturday February 16th from 7 to 10 pm) the artists will be doing Live Mural Painting in the entranceway of MF Gallery. Refreshments will be served. Admission is Free and open to all ages.
