This event has ended.

Artist Larry Schulte’s woven photographs and painted paper pieces are greatly influenced by his background as a mathematician. He uses the mathematical precision of the Fibonacci sequence to determine the width of the strips and weave structure, which makes disparate images integral to each other and creates intricate patterns. Fiber artist Patricia Malarcher doesn’t work with mathematics as numbers, yet it remains an influence on her art. She works from a basic geometric grid design and uses a 12” square as a basic module. Schulte and Malarcher’s works will go on display in “Cross Pollination,” a shared exhibit at NYIT’s Gallery 61.
