This event has ended.

Michele Krauss is an abstract impressionist who resides in Manhattan’s Tribeca neighborhood. Chilean born and widely traveled, she has recently created her latest series of works that incorporate her signature elements of fluid movement contrasted with precise geometric shapes. This series, "Through Windows," continues portraying feminine ethereal color intruded by severe masculine areas. By juxtaposing basic geometric shapes with texture, color and line, the artist creates unique pieces of work that feature abstract and innovative landscapes. In this selection of works she further incorporates perspective, asking "Are we looking out thorough the window, or in?"

The twelve pieces play on her impressionistic use of shadow and light, while the titles beckon the viewer into each scene. For example, "Do You Love Me," evokes the passion enveloping and overcoming the innocent serenity, while the "window," implies the male principle—but whether it is the cause or bystander of the scene is for the viewer to decide. Krauss's work entices her audience to journey and contemplate within each canvas. She is frequently playful—either in title, "Uh Oh," or in concept, "Amuse Me."

Krauss has established herselfboth nationally and internationally. Her work has been exhibited in numerous reputable contemporary art fairs, and in solo and group exhibits in Italy, France, Australia, Chile, and the United States. Her work can be found in private collections worldwide.
