This event has ended.

For her second solo show at the gallery, Mia Taylor will present a new body of work that explores her ongoing concern with spatial representation.

Taylor has employed mass-produced architectural, electronic and design-based drawing templates in her practice, as she is interested in how they systematically describe actions, objects or space in 2-D form. for this exhibition, she has composed her own original templates, which are a hybrid of those used in her 'auxiliary operation' series of works on paper. with these, taylor constructs painterly and sculptural forms.

Shapes shift and repeat on the surface of wood, in layers of canvas and as pieces of perspex. combining hand craft with hi-tech, taylor's process both dilutes and undermines the original function of the template.

Mia Taylor was born in Bristol, United Kingdom and currently lives and works in, London, UK. she graduated from the Nottingham Trent University in 1999 and received her MFA from the Chelsea School of Art and Design in 2005. taylor has exhibited extensively in the UK, including the Whitechapel Gallery, standpoint gallery, APT gallery and the Jerwood Space in London.
