“I HAVE A DREAM – 50 Years of Change” Art Exhibition and Reading Series
Grady Alexis Gallery
This event has ended.
This exhibition celebrates the 50th Anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King’s historic speech through the exploration of hope, freedom, diversity and social justice. This show features paintings, drawings, photographs, prints, digital and mixed media works by 23 New York-based international artists (from the US, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Venezuela, Italy, Israel, China and Japan,) who approach the subject in styles that range from literal to abstract.
Included in the exhibition are an elaborate quilt featuring an image of Barak Obama by Sylvia Hernandez; a lyrical black and white photo by j. maya luz; intimately sized abstract ceramic works by Nancy Quigley and poignant illustrations by Martin Kozlowski and Felipe Galindo. The exhibit also features a 1964, one-of-a-kind historical letter signed by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
