This event has ended.

Gallery 151 presents The Least Orthodox Goddess, a guest-curated show from Jasmine Wahi.

The Least Orthodox Goddess will be a group exhibition featuring works by Anjali Bhargava, Julie Heffernan, Peter Gronquist, Swati Khurana, Leila Lal, Divya Mehra, Carrie Mae Rose, Wardell Milan, and L’OR. Each artist has been selected for exploring the mannerisms and traits of the Goddess character, as imagined by Ms Wahi. The Least Orthodox Goddess is the embodiment of the female superhero: unapologetically strong, unabashedly sexual, and unequivocally outspoken. Paintings, site specific installations, and sculpture as well as modified taxidermy and wearable weapons will all be part of this exhibition.

Ms. Wahi is a New York City based independent curator, but she has curated shows internationally through Project For Empty Space. Her curatorial practice focuses primarily on addressing social issues and exploring work by women of color, and she serves on the Board of the South Asian Women’s Creative Collective (SAWCC) as a visual arts specialist.
