The Special Editions Residency allows emerging artists to create major bodies of work in collaboration with Master Printer Erik Hougen and Printers Keigo Takahashi and Laura Charlton, fully sponsored by the Printshop. Joell Baxter, Jonggeon Lee, and Steven Millar immersed themselves in printmaking techniques for several months before developing their vision for their final works. What followed were gorgeous print projects of conceptual and technical expertise.
The Printshop’s Publishing Residency Program invited Alison Elizabeth Taylor and Sebastiaan Bremer to create new editions, also collaborating with the Printer trio. Taylor embraced the opportunity to mix and match techniques and materials—including her customary wood veneer—creating beautifully textured editions and her most ambitious print projects to date. Bremer continued his exploration of vintage family photographs and used a whimsy approach to the surface quality.
