GIFU and GIFT is a special exhibition presenting handcrafted gift products made in Gifu, Japan.
Located in the nature-rich center of Japan, Gifu prefecture is a thriving regional manufacturer of paper, woodwork, cutlery, and ceramics. Historically, the region is important as the former home of Oda Nobunaga shogunate during late 16th century feudal Japan. In this exhibition, materials and techniques will be introduced in the context of cultural and historical background. The products on display employ the handed down technology and traditional craft of Gifu.
